Commission time-birth of a painting

The beginning of a painting is always challenging. As I add paint and work through the different layers I begin to have an idea as to where things will will go.

These 2 panels are for a client each are 48x24".  They are to be companion pieces for a clients family room.  I begin a lot of my work with a warm under painting and marks of some kind.  The marks are just marks or "asemic writing, meaning "having no specific semantic content", or "without the smallest unit of meaning". For me these marks a very freeing

At this point I'm not sure of the composition.  I do know a basic color palette. More to come.  Please follow on Facebook and Instagram.
