Steps Series

Having been a painter most of my adult life I found myself wanting to explore different ways of expressing myself. I began exploring mixed media to create new painting surfaces of paper, glue, and thread. Recently, I moved to a larger studio space which inspired and allowed for larger sized paintings and new ways of painting. A combination of oil paint, wax, spray paint, and pigment sticks are present in this collection of works, Steps.  The works that emerged are whimsical, bold paintings exploring color, shape, and line through mapping, geometric shapes, and architectural references. These works echo both the constructs and the abstractions.
